In the July 1979 issue of Perspectives, the in house publication of the Plymouth Center for Human Development, Elizabeth Ring had written about being given custody of the Wayne County Training Schools Historic collection of books and records. Records not rescued were lost to fire and neglect.

WHEREAS, THE WAYNE COUNTY TRAINING SCHOOL AN INSTITUTION DEDICATED TO THE PROBLEM OF THE REHABILITATION OF MEBNTALLY DEFICIENT CHILDREN, WAS ESTABLISHED IN SEPTEMBER, 1926,AND WHEREAS, DURING THIS FULL QUARTER OF A CENTURY, UNDER THE SPLENDID DIRECTION OF DR ROBERT H. HASKELL, THE INSTITUTION HAS WRITTEN AN INDELIBLE RECORD OF UNEXCELLED ATTAINMENT IN RETURNING INNUMERABLE CHILDREN TO A USEFULL SOCIAL STATE IN THE COMMUNITY,AND BY EXAMPLE IT HAS SERVED AS A UNIQUE PATTERN FOR MANY OTHER INSTITUTIONS. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT THE BOARD OF WAYNE COUNTY AUDITORS IN THE BEHALF OF WAYNE COUNTY, OFFERS ITS MOST SINCERE COMMENDATIONS AND WHOLE HEARTED CONGRATUALTIONS TO DR. ROBERT H.
